Music
Introduction
Music plays an integral part of the social, liturgical and spiritual life at St. David’s Parish. Steeped in our strong Anglican identity is a history of music and fine musicianship. Called to serve our growing and diverse community, we bring this tradition to our prayer and bring other musical traditions into our prayer and liturgical life.
The 9:15am Service
This service draws on many resources to celebrate the diversity of styles, histories, and generations which make up our church. Through a modified Rite II, we explore and celebrate through music and ritual. Music at this service is contemporary and draws on the traditional Anglican repertoire as well as styles often found in other Christian traditions which make up the world communion.
The 11:15am Service
The 11:15am service celebrates the rich history of Anglican celebration through hymnody, chant, service music, and sacred music. Through Rite I and occasional morning prayer, our musical heritage is fostered and our rich Anglican musical identity is preserved.
